(a) As shown in the clock, reading on the First June = 5.6 KWh

Now, one rotation of the meter dial means consumption of 10 units (kWh).

Reading on the First July = 6.5 kWh

As shown in the dial, the reading in the July comes after one complete rotation of the dial gauge.

Therefore, electricity used in the month of June = 10.0 kWh + (6.5 - 5.6) kWh

= 10.90 kWh

(b) Rate of energy cost = 0.07 dollar per kWh

Therefore cost of energy consumed in the month June = 0.07 x 10.90 = 0.763 dollar

(c) Meter reading on July 1st = 6.5 kWh

(d) Meter reading on June 1st = 5.6 kWh
