Nursing care is very important during the phases of stroke. Stroke patients will have less blood supply to the brain. So the nursing intervention must include regular exercise. Stroke patients cannot do active exercise. So the passive exercise is very important to care stroke patients. Help them to maintain airway, breathing and circulation.

Initiate seizure precautions at the bed side. Encourage the patient to chew the food in stronger side. Assist the patient while walking. When ambulating the patient, nurse has to assist the patient from the weaker side. Keep the patient in the fowlers position while feeding. Periodically change the position every 2 hours once. Back care has to be given everyday for effective circulation.

Meticulous skin care has to be given to avoid pressure sore. Encourage the patients to modify the lifestyle.
