can u help me with these two questions
The monosaccharide unit in DNA is deoxyribose sugar. Its structure is:
Nomenclature of molecules:
First letter - small d indicates deoxy form. It means second carbon will not have -OH group.
Second letter - A, C, G, U indicates nitrogenous base Adenine, cytosine, guanine and uracil respectively. One of these groups will be attached to first carbon.
Last - DP means diphosphate. Whenever there are two phosphate units attached to fifth carbon. If DP is not written, it means it does not contain phosphate unit, as in Uridine or deoxyadenosine.
Identify molecule #1: the given compound contains diphosphate unit, the nitrogenous base is uracil and the second carbon contains hydroxy group. Hence, it is Uridine diphosphate (UDP).
Identify molecule #2: the given molecule contains two phosphate units, the nitrogenous base is Adenine and the second carbon does not have hydroxy group. Hence, it is deoxyadenosine diphosphate (dADP)
