First of all, NO, Ionic bonds are not the same as ion - dipole

there are bonds and there are forces

bonds are WAY stronger than forces

for covalent compounds

H-bonding > dipole - dipole > london disperson forces

H-bonding : occurs between polar molecules that contain a O-H , N-H or F-H bond

dipole - dipole : occurs between "regular" polar molecules

london disperson forces: occur between all covalent molecules but is the only IMF for nonpolar molecules
