Question
Use the following results to predict the following:

a. The hip circumference of a man whose chest circumference is 95 centimeters.
b. The height of a man whose forearm circumference is 28 centimeters.
Styles 3. Use technology to find the regression line for each pair in Exercise 1 that has a strong correlation (chest, hip) C

Answer #1

(A) Regression equation is

y = -8.83 + 1.13*x

setting x = 95

we get

= -8.83 + 1.13*95

= -8.83 + 107.35

= 98.52

(B) Regression equation is

y = 24.68 + 1.67*x

setting x = 28

we get

= 24.68 + 1.67*28

= 24.68 + + 46.76

= 71.44
