Answer #1

Ans 4 :

a)

density = mass / volume

0.851 g/mL = m / 0.100 mL

m = 0.0851 g

mol C4H9Cl = mass /molar mass

= 0.0851 g / 92.566 g/mol = 9.19 x 10-4 mol

so mol ethanol will also be 9.19 x 10-4 mol

mass ethanol = mol x molar mass

= 9.19 x 10-4 mol x 46.07 g/mol

= 0.042 grams

b)

Number of mol of C4H9OCH2CH3 formed will be : 9.19 x 10-4 mol

mass of C4H9OCH2CH3 = mol x molar mass

= 9.19 x 10-4 mol x 102.17 g/mol

= 0.094 grams

c)

Number of mol of HCl produced = 9.19 x 10-4 mol

So mass of HCl = mol x molar mass

= 9.19 x 10-4 mol x 36.46 g/mol

= 0.0335 grams
