Crossed Aldol Reaction
Crossed aldol reaction is an organic reaction in which one of the substrates contains any alpha hydrogen atom with a sterically unhindered carbon atom. An enolizable aldehyde or ketone reacts with another aldehyde or ketone in the presence of the base/acid, giving the crossed aldol product (alpha-beta unsaturated carbonyl compound).
