We need to find the E field distant r = 0.855 m from the center of the shell.

We know from Gauss law that,

E x A = Q(total) / \epsilono

E = Q(total) / A \epsilono

E = 1/4 pi \epsilono x Q(total)/r2

E = 9 x 109 x (9.03 + 4.15) x 10-6 / (0.855)2 = 1.62 x 105 N/C

Hence, E = 1.62 x 105 N/C
