CET 363 Digital Circuits Design Project Liquid storage tank control unit In this projact you will design the control unit for a liquid storage tank. The control unit monitors temperature and liquid levels. The unit will maintain the appropriate liquid level by controlling input and output valves. The control unit also controls a heater to maintain the correct temperature range. Finaly, an alarm is activated if the liquid is too hot or there is a sensor failure Basic System Operation The liquid levels (LL and LH) are determined by the level sensors located in the tank. The output of each sensor is high when it is submerged. The control logic operates an input valve (VI) that allows liquid to fiow in to the tank until the high-level sensor is activated by being immerged in liquid. When the high-level sensor is activated the input valve is closed. The control unit keeps the output valve (VO) open as long as the low-lavel sensor is immerged (active 1) and the liquid is at the right temperature The temperature is monitored by two temperature sensors, one for hot (TH) and one for cold (TC). These sensors are high when the temperature is too hot or too cold, respectively If the too-cold sensor is activated while the tank liquids are at a proper level (You must decide what is the proper level.), the heater (H) is turned on. The alam (A) is activated if there is a sensor failure. This includes both temperature sensors being active at the same time or the high level sensor being active while the low-level sensor is not active. When the alarm is active because of sensor failure, no other action can be taken. Finally, the alarm sounds if the liquid is too hot. If this occurs while the high level sensor is not immerged then the control unit opens the input valve to fill tank,

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
