The formula for correlation coefficient (r) between X and Y is:

Correlation (r) = Covariance between X and Y / SDx * SDy

where, SDx is standard deviation of X and SDY is standard deviation of Y. (Standard deviation is square root of variance)

Putting the values in the above formula, we get,

Correlation coefficient (r) = 15 / (36)1/2 * (25)1/2

Correlation coefficient (r) = 15 / 6 * 5

Correlation coefficient (r) = 15 / 30 = 0.5
