The graph to the right shows a region of feasible solutions. Use this region to find maximum and minimum values of the given objective functions, and the locations of these values on the graph 13 (0, 10) (a) z 0.40x 0.25y (b) z- 1.75x +0.75y (3, 7) (a) What is the maximum of z=0.40x + 0.25y? Select the correct answer below and, if necessary, fill in the answer boxes to complete your choice 0 A. The maximum value of the objective function z=0.40x+0.25y is and is located at the point Type an exact answer.) 0 00, 0) (7, 0) 13 O B. The maximum does not exist.

Answer #1

For maxima or minima,

dz/dx =0

And

dz/dy=0

Since z =0.4x + 0.25y

Therefore

dz/dx =0.4

And

dz/dy=0.25

Therefore there are no maxima or minima.

Hence the maximum don't exist.

Thus the option (b) is correct.
