Answer #1

PART A)

Electric field at x = 21 cm

E = \frac{kq_1}{r_1^2}+ \frac{kq_2}{r_2^2}

E = \frac{k*(-4nC)}{0.21^2}+ \frac{k*6nC}{(0.81 - 0.21)^2}

E = 816.3+150=966.3N/C

PART B)

Electric field at x = 1.3 m

E = \frac{kq_1}{r_1^2}+ \frac{kq_2}{r_2^2}

E = \frac{k*(-4nC)}{1.3^2}+ \frac{k*6nC}{(1.3 - 0.81)^2}

E = -21.3+225=203.6 N

PART C)

Electric field at x = -19 cm

E = \frac{kq_1}{r_1^2}+ \frac{kq_2}{r_2^2}

E = \frac{k*(-4nC)}{0.19^2}+ \frac{k*6nC}{(0.81 + 0.19)^2}

E = 997.2- 54=943.2N/C
