Answer #1

(1)

(a) conserving momentum m1v1 = (m1+ m2)v2

v2 = 1820*25/(1820 + 2270) = 11.12 m/s

(b) before collision K.E = 1/2 m1*v1^2 = 1/2*1820*25^2 =568750 J

(c) after collision K.E = 1/2 (m1 + m2)*v2^2 = 1/2*4090*11.12^2 =252873.24 J

(d) It is inelastic collision as the energy is same after collision

(2)

(a) By einstein theory of relativity

E = mC^2 = 7.75*10^-10* (3*10^8)^2 = 69.75 MJ (mega joules (10^6 J) )

(b) E = 1/2 mV^2

V=sqrt(2E/m) = sqrt(2*69.75 MJ/1820) = 276.47 m/s
