Answer #1

CO (g) + 1/2 O2 (g) ⟶ CO2 (g) ΔH0rxn = -283 kJ/mol

CO moles required = 175 kJ / 283 kJ/mol = 0.6183745583 mol

CO molar mass = 28.01 g/mol

mass of carbon monoxide = 0.6183745583 mol x 28.01 g/mol = 17.3206713781 g

Answer: mass of carbon monoxide must be burned = 17.3 g
