Answer: A medical error can be defined as an error made an inaccurate or incomplete diagnosis or treatment of a disease, injury, syndrome, behavior, infection, or other ailment and it can be a preventable adverse effect of care, whether or not it is evident or harmful to the patient. Medical errors affect health care as a whole by many ways such as if there is continuous medical errors in the treatment of the patient, there willl be more chances of poor productivity rate of the hospital and may lose the trust of the patients. There will be a threat to the ethical values of the hospital organization.

For the patient due to the medical error, they suffer a lot not by bearing the adverse effect of the medical error but also getting well from the mental trauma of getting the prey of the medical error. They lose trust as well as they need to be given proper treatment. Sometimes medical mistakes that can be fatal range from surgical complications that go unrecognized to errors regarding the doses or types of medications administered to patient.
