Mg2+ have +2 charge while Na+ has only +1 charge. we know that hydration energy is proportional to charge by radius, effective nuclear charge of Mg2+ is more than that of Na+ so radius of Mg2+ is smaller than that of Na+ and we can easily say that magnesium chloride is most likely to be hydrated in the Solid state.
