Answer #1

given

Q = 5.40 nC = 5.40*10-9 C

d = 1.50 cm = 0.015 m

diagonal distance is d*\sqrt{2} = 0.015*sqrt(2) = 0.021 m.

potential at A due to Q and 2Q,

VA= k*Q/d + k*2Q/d\sqrt{2}

VA = 9*109*5.40*10-9/0.015 + 9*109*2*5.40*10-9/0.021

VA = 7868.57 N

potential at B due to Q and 2Q,

VB= k*2Q/d + k*Q/d\sqrt{2}

VB = 9*109*2*5.40*10-9/0.015 + 9*109*5.40*10-9/0.021

VB = 8794.28 N
