Answer #1

Part 1

If Sweet Catering had recorded transactions using the Cash method, how much net income (loss) would they have recorded for the month of May?

Net income (loss) using cash method = meals served to customer – rent paid – electricity bill – cash paid for kitchen equipment = 1040-1800-230-3610 = $(4600)

Part 2

If Sweet Catering had recorded transactions using the Accrual method, how much net income (loss) would they have recorded for the month of May? If there is a loss, enter it with parentheses or a negative sign.

Net income (loss) using accrual method = meals served to customer+ Served a banquet on account – rent expense – electricity bill – salary expense – depreciation = 1040+2640-(1800/3)-230-2430-310 = $110
