The three source of United states law are-
1- Constitutional law
2- Statutory law
3- Case law
Constituitonal law- Basically it is a foundation of all law in a specific jurisdiction. It states government authority,power and limitations and grant rights. Each states in America have its own constitutional law. It involves bill of rights, in which various rights are given such as the freedom of speech, the right to a fair trial, and the right to be free from certain types of discrimination. It also includes rights and powers of the branches of government. Both state and federal government have three branches and equall power is divided amongs them.
Statutory law - It is basically a written law which is inacted by legislative body. It is stricted or conducted by the court only, A bill is proposed in the legislature and the vote on the bill started and If it gets opproved it passes to the executive branch either a governor at the state level or the president at the federal level and then If it is sign by the executive then bill get passes into law as a statute. If the executive refuses to sign the bill, it sent back to the legislature. In most instances, if the legislature again passes the bill by a set margin it becomes a statute.
Case law- Case law helps to inform our understanding of how the guidelines work in a particular jurisdiction. It is derived by the decision taken by the judges in the court, Case law help to know guidelines should be applied to a case with a particular set of facts. Bsically its a collection of legal decision written by the court,
