Activity based costing promotes efficiency by allocating costs based on the resource consumption in the delivery of distinct services. Therefore if a public sector does not provide any services, it will not get any costs allocate therefore,they will try to maximize provision of services in order to get costs allocated in their department and in order for costs to be allocated they need to do activities. Therefore it will help to improve financial management in the public sector as we will come to know the work they are doing and based on that the costs will be allocated hence it leads to more efficiency and transparency.
