1) Using ideal gas equation,

Number of moles, n = PV/RT

P = 6.8 atm

R = 0.082 Latm/mol.K

V = 2.36 L

T = 17°C = 17+273.15 = 290.15 K

Number of moles = 6.8×2.36/0.082×290.15

= 0.67 moles

2) P = 0.98 atm

T = 18°C = 18+273.15 = 291.15 K

Moles = mass /molar mass = 1.6×104/2

= 0.8×104 Kg = 8×106 g

Volume, V= nRT/P = 8×106×0.082×291.15/0.98

= 194×106 L
