Solids, Liquids & Gases are the three states of matter . Solids have the strongest intermolecular forces of attraction and Gaseous have weakest intermolecular forces of attractions.

Solids have a close packing of molecules so they have least inter molecular space between the molecules while packing in case of gases is very poor and their is maximum intermolecular space .

Density is defined as mass per unit volume . It depends on the packing of molecules . Solids have closed packing so they have maximum density while gaseous have very low density.
