The specific elements researched related to vacation leave are employees would be receiving vacation leave only when they have completed five years of their service, the employees should receive three weeks of vacation, employer’s must schedule vacation time and vacation should be taken within 10 months of entitlement which must be addressed in the policy to ensure compliance with employment and labour standards in each jurisdiction.

The four elements related to vacation pay are

  1. The vacation pay should be equivalent to 4% of wages,
  2. It should be paid at lump sum amount before the time of vacation,
  3. It has to be made through cheque and
  4. Gross wages would be included in vacation pay with respect to commission, bonuses and salary being addressed in the policy to ensure compliance with employment.
