Constitutional isomers also called structural isomers are the compounds that have same chemical formula but different arrangement of atoms. Thus due to their different arrangement of atoms, they have different properties and reactivity. Constitutional isomers are of three types:
1) chain isomers: these have different arrangement of carbon and hydrogen atoms.
2) position isomers: these have different position of functional groups.
3) functional isomers: these have different functional groups.
So, given compounds are example of functional isomers because Ch3CH2OCH3 i.e. methoxyethane or also called ethylmethyl ether has ether functional group but CH3CH2CH2OH i.e. propanol has alcohol functional group. Thus they have different functional groups.
