Cultural relativism Cultural relativism is the concept of a personalitys beliefs, values, and practices ought to be understood supported by persons own culture, instead of be judged against the standards of another. What are the implications for ethics of the view point that Ruth Benedict describes Ruth Benedict (1887-1948), an anthropologist, argues that science forces us to simply accept ethical relativism.
