4. Bio samples are very less soluble or partly soluble in water (they are hydrophobic in nature) and they are readily soluble in organic solvents like DMSO that's the reason for prep purification of biosample we will use DMSO instead of water.

5. KMnO4 oxidise the alcohol to acid or ketone and it will appear on TLC.
