The key problem in severe food reaction with a history of nut allergy is upper airway obstruction.In series of nut allergic patients,of those with a severe reaction 100% had respiratory symptoms and 14% of these had hypotension.Respiratory features vary from wheeze or laryngeal edema cusing mild through to severe dyspnea,cyanosis or respiratory arrest.Early treatment of food induced respiratory symptoms can lead to resolution.
