- Benefits of EHRs

Allow access to evidence-based tools that providers can use to make decisions about a patient's care.
Automate and streamline provider workflow.

Disadvantagesof EHRs:

These include financial issues, changes in workflow, temporary loss of productivity associated with EHR adoption, privacy and security concerns, and several unintended consequences.
