Answer #1

Answer: When a woman consumes alcohol during her pregnancy is known as fetal alcohol exposure. In this the fetus is exposed to the alcohol that means it wiil be affected by the alcohol whereas FAS i.e. fetal alcohol syndrome includes the metal, physical developmental inabilities in baby due to consumption of alcohol.

While in pregnancy if a pregnant woman drinks alcohol, and the alcohol crosses the placenta and reached the fetus then the alcohol destroys the developing cells of the fetus and produces abnormalities in the baby. The alcohol mainly affects the brain and central nervous system as they are sensitive to alcohol and can cause permanent damage to them.

So, it is simple to differentiate between the FAS and FAE for the healthcare experts. In other words, we can say that the FAS is the long-term effect of the consumption of the alcohol which causes abnormalities in baby. The FAS affects the central nervous system abnormalities such as the problem with brain development and behavior etc.
