DEFINITION :

Placenta previa refers to the attachment of the placenta in the uterus over or bear the cervical opening

RISK FACTORS:

• Labor induction
• Previous cessation section
• Elderly mother
• Smoking
• Termination of pregnancy

FREQUENCY:

0.5% of pregnancy

ONSET:

It usually develops in the second trimester

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS :

• Painless bright red vaginal bleeding
• Bleeding before delivery

CAUSES:

• Idiopathic
• Abnormal vascularisation

DIAGNOSIS :
