Access to the healthcare enables people to contact and obtain health related services at qualified healthcare organizations through skilled and trained team members.

the five important dimensions of healthcare include :

3. affordability

4. appropriateness

5. acceptibility

Approachability is an important factor in accessing healthcare. The healthcare needs to promote its care services so that people would know where to go or whom to approach when they need medical service. the healthcare needs to promote health in order to increase approachability.

Availability and accomodation : availability and accomodation are two major aspects of healthcare access. the availability of healthcare refers to how easily and quickly a healthcare can be reached. the main characteristics of availability includes hospitals at urban and suburban areas, transportation facilities, presence of different types of treatments and necessary care, presence of qualified skilled workers.

acceptibity to seek treatment or accept the mecical institutes depends on factors like social beliefs, customs and traditions. a person may or may not accept the care and treatment provided based on the social beliefs like caste, colour or gender discrimination. lack of education and awareness are two main reasons for denying of treatment.

affordability : a person who requires the treatment may not be able to get the treatment due to monetary problems. sometimes medical care becomes disproportionately high resulting in lack of healthcare access. poverty, non insurance and debts can restrict the accessibility of healthcare.

appropriateness : appropriate treatment is necessary for early recovery of patients. treatment plans need to sensible, competent and accurate. to have access to such facilities need skillful and highly professional team members. appropriateness refers to providing the best care and treatment which is necessary and in accordance with the patients problems and complains.
