The main nursing intervention is to be given importance is for pain.

nursing diagnosis: acute pain related pain related to tissue trauma and prescribed post procedure immobilizaition as evidenced by patient rating 9 on scale.

Subjective data: the patient complaints that he experiences severe pain and discomfort in ggroin area.

objective data: patient is with right side cardiac catheterization. There is no reddish discoloration or bluish discoloration. No active bleeding. Pulses are palpable.

Nursing Goals :

patient expresses a considerable reduction in pain within 2 hours.

Patient decides to quit alcohol and smoking

Patient verbalize how to take prescribed medications.

Nursing Interventions:

Assess the level of pain on pain scale

Administer analgesic as prescribed bye the physician.

Help the patient to change position at regular interval.

Explain the ill effects of smoking or alcohol.

Demonstrate the method of taking medications as prescribed by the physician.

Assess the pain scale 1 hour after administering the prescribed analgesic.
