Answer #1

10 ml has 50,000 units of penicillin.

1 ml has 50,000/10 = 5000 units.

6 ml has 5000 X 6 = 30,000 units of penicillin.

24 grams of ointment is incorporated with 6 ml of penicillin solution which has 30,000 units of penicillin.

So, 24 gm ointment has 30,000 units

1 gram has 30,000/24 = 1,250 units.

Therefore, the ointment should be labelled as “ penicillin ointment 1,250 units per gram”.
