a) The sampling distribution of \hat p is approximately normal with mean and standard deviation are,

Mp=p=0.49

Op = p*(1 - p) 9 0.49 * (1 -0.49) 2 = 0.0158 1000 V

sample proportion (\hat p) = 510/1000 = 0.51

P(X > 510) = P(p>0.51) = P(Z > 0.51 -0.49 ) = P(Z > 1.27) = 0.1020 0.0158 1

=> P(X > 510) = 0.1020

c) x = 450

sample proportion (\hat p) = 450/1000 = 0.45

P(X < 450) = P < 0.51) = P(Z < 0.4 9) = P(Z < -2.53) = 0.0057

=> P(X < 450) = 0.0057
