add: desired ending inventory (2700 september sales*10%) 270
less: opening inventory (10% of current month sales ) (3000*10%) (300)
projected production for august 2,970

working:

when desired ending inventory is 10% of next month's sales, opening inventory will be 10% of current month sales.
