Below is a list of an author's Top 10 Current Global Issues. Your task in this assignment is to look at each of these global issues and rank each global issue in order of importance for the future of humanity, from the most important to the least important global issue. You must give your reasons why you believe a particular global issue is in fact a global issue and why you rank it to be of greater or lesser importance than other global issues. Climate Change The global temperatures are rising, and are estimated to increase from 2.6 degrees Celsius to 4.8 degrees Celsius by 2100. This would cause more severe weather, crises with food and resources and the spread of diseases. The reduction of greenhouse emissions and the spreading of education on the importance of going green can help make a big difference. Lobbying governments and discussing policies to reduce carbon emissions and encouraging reforestation is an effective way of making progress with climate change. 2. Pollution Pollution is one of the most difficult global issues to combat, as the umbrella term refers to ocean litter, pesticides and fertilizers, air, light and noise pollution. Clean water is essential for humans and animals, but more than one billion people don't have access to clean water due to pollution from toxic substances, sewage or industrial waste. It is of the utmost importance that people all over the world begin working to minimize the various types of pollution, in order to better the health of the planet and all those living on it.

Factors which affect the mere existence of human race

1. Climate Change- The mere existence of the human race is in question due to climate changes. Hence, I would consider it as the most important global issue which needs to be considered in the current time
2. Pollution- Pollution is currently spread on a large level affecting the health of people and the normal span of a human life. It is one of the most difficult global issues to combat, hence ranked as no.
3. Malnourishment and Hunger- Millions of people go hungry in today’s time. Only after solving this problem, we can consider global issues such as education and employment.

Factors affecting the social well being of a person

4. Lack of Education- A serious obstacle towards the growth and earning capabilities of a person is lack of education
5. Unemployment- Due to the lack of education and over population, there has been an increase in unemployment levels in the recent years.
6. Govt. Corruption- This affects the poor people the most and is a negative influence on the security and well being of the society as a whole
7. Security and Well Being- Only if we live in an educated society, we can feels secure and safe

Others

8. Substance Abuse- This global issue is spreading throughout the world, but still various measures have already been put in place to curb such practices.
9. Terrorism- Although this is a serious global issue, but known instances of such activities are a bit low compared to the above mentioned factors
10. Violence- Some of the reasons for violence can be curbed by resolving above mentioned crisis such as corruption, pollution, social security etc. Hence compared to other global issues, this issue should be of the least concern.
