Answer #1

According to the question Amy Martin buys the suit on the credit and after making use she used to return it the next week According to me this approach used by her is unethical because she is taking undue advantage of the return policy made for the benefit of the customers which is Dishonest and a kind of lying to the Seller Just because Martin cannot afford to have an financial outlay of $100 or $200 she cannot be Dishonest and cross the ethical line with the seller

Possible Consequences of Amy's Martin Action

  • Store would bear the possible losses as the last burden goes to them.
  • Dress once taken out from the packed boxes may not get that shine as it used to have earlier which may make it difficult to sell again.consumer of today's world can easily recognise such things
  • As a person Ammy may feel guilty for what she did because the dishonesty she did may keep her in guilt
  • The commission Agent who helped for selling the suit may feel stressed out and Demotivated.
  • It is also Possible that Ammy Martin get encouragement to do such kind of activities on regular basis and crossing the ethical line becomes her habit.
  • This kind of Habit will encourage other people to opt such kind of practices which can be a great loss. Policies could a store Implement to Discourage this type of Behaviour
  • If such activities are happening on the regular basis company can follow a No return policy after sales.
  • Company may start charging certain amount for the person who follow these kind of activities.
  • Proper checking should be done before returning any clothes if the stores finds that undue advantage is taken then it should not be returned.
