Out of 878 participants, 482 were in favor which is about 54.90 % and 396 were opposed which is 45.10 % . Thus the number of subjects who respond in favor is more than or equal to 50%, hence the null hypothesis is H₀ : p = 0.5 and alternate hypothesis H₁ : p ≠ 0.5. The results suggest that the politician claim is false about people not really understanding stem cell and that the responses are random responses.
