Note that for the given data, the plot of 1/[A] vs t is a straight line.

We know that for a second order reaction, the integrate rate equation is given as

= kt +

Hence, a plot of 1/[A] vs t results in a straight line with slope k and intercept 1/[A]o.

Hence, to find the value of k, we just have to calculate the slope of the third plot.

Since all the points in the plot lie in the straight line, we can calculate the slope by taking two points on the line.

Lets first calculate the value of 1/[A] for the points from the data given
