If the United States government (Department of Justice) detects that a certain industry has or is developing a monopoly, they will intervene. -- Why?

In most cases, they will break up the company or give the company some options in order to promote competition among other companies. Example: Microsoft Company. Why is this so important within a capitalist market?

We didn’t see the culture of monopoly in either home and international market at this globalized world. The monopoly is completely vanished and grown the healthy competitive market in the nations. If the Department of Justice identified it as a monopoly they will definitely intervene and issue the notice to freeze the activities of the company or firm. As per the Judiciary in the U.S, the companies will not do the monopoly market until or unless, if they have got the permission from the U.S government.

Microsoft company is a vast expanding organization all over the world and it had gained goodwill across the globe. Microsoft organization was mainly founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen on April 4, 1975. It is mainly a key role played in the computers by the operating system. Since 1975 onwards they brought so many technology revolutions and no one of the other company beats the Microsoft organization or their products until now. The products available in outside along with Microsoft and other companies but major products reached to the public is Microsoft products only. So, the competition is very less to the Microsoft company and also they elaborated their services in smartphones too. This is the major reason of the Microsoft company still being in the Capitalist market.
