insulin sensitivity factor - is defined as amount of blood glucose lowered by injection of 1 unit of insulin. It is calculated by dividing 1700 by Daily Dose of insulin.( fast acting) or 1500 divide by slow acting insulin, Daily Dose

:humalog is fast acting insulin and NPH is intermediate acting insulin.

So insulin sensitivity factor = 1700/ 27. = 62.23

Means one unit of insulin will lower blood glucose by approximately 62 mg / dl
