Answer #1

Emphysema is a chronic respiratory disease of lungs characterized by damaged alveoli, in which the gas exchange is seriously affected.

No 1. (This is very dangerous intervention)

In emphysema, there is already reduced pulmonary exchange due to damaged alveoli and airway blockage due to chronic cough and sputum production. if you give bronchoconstriction medication then the oxygen level in the body will decrease and carbon dioxide will increase in the blood due to poor gas exchange and there is already a problem in breathing the bronchoconstrictor will make the problem more serious.

The aim should be to increase pulmonary exchange by bronchodilation.

No 2. (This is very dangerous intervention)

In high altitude oxygen level in the air is very low, if you move the patient to high altitude in emphysema then the oxygen level in the body starts to decrease. It can cause tissue hypoxia and may lead to death without proper treatment.

The should be increase oxygenation.

No 3. This is an appropriate intervention

Supplemental O2 is very necessary to maintain oxygen level in emphysema because there is poor gas exchange due to damaged alveoli.

Good nutrition is very helpful in reducing infection as example vitamine c is very necessary for healthy lung.

Bronchodilators can be required in many cases, it helps the patient to breathe smoothly. Because in emphysema there is airway blockage due to infection and inflammation of lungs.
