Answer: Sleep plays major roles in our life. It maintains the functioning of the body system. At night child tends to have dreams during deep sleep from which it is difficult to awake is known as sleep terrors. This is a hereditary disorder and near about 40% of children suffer from it. The symptoms include such as stare wide-eyed, begin with a frightening scream or shout, sometimes may have sweat, heavy breathe, and have a fast pulse rate, flushed face and dilated pupils.

There is no main cause of this terror except it is hereditary but sometimes due to stress or fear it happens. The diagnosis includes a physical examination as well as noticing the sleep defect. Whereas treatment involves no major medication but sometimes for time being relief benzodiazepines or certain antidepressants can be given.
