Recent research and the chapters discussed in class indicate that with regards to the legal drinking age being 21, the United States continues to have serious problems Given that the MLDA of 21 years old has not stopped our nation's youth from consuming alcohol, and the groups for consuming alcohol are getting younger: age 1. Do you think it is time to reconsider lowering the age limit of alcohol consumption to 18 years old? Why or why not? What are some of the pros/cons of lowering the drinking rates in the United States? 2. At what specific age should the consumption of alcohol be legal?/How can we teach responsible drinking and drinking in moderation?

1. No, i dont think that the problem of increase in the number of alcohol consumers in the group is majorly covered by youngers can be sorted by reducing the legal age of drinking by 18 . If we do that then it would be an encouragement for them to drink . There are no pros in reconsideration of lowering the legal age of drinking ,only cons are there :-

- increase in number of young alcohol consumers

- it would be an encouragement for the youngsters to drink

- even child below below 18 will drink by saying that i am two or one year left to become 18

- increase in number of illegal activities

- increase in cases of depression

- increase in number of family distortion

2. According to me ,the legal age for drinking should be 21 only because we can't drag beyond that ,every one has tried it once by this age . What we can do is health education . They should be taught about the safe use of alcohol at moderate levels . Like don't drink and drive , drink small doses , what are its side effects on health and family etc .
