Answer #1

A)

Force, F = Mg/2 = 42.6 x 9.8/2 = 208.74 N

B)

Force, F = (208.74) + (8.87 x 9.8) = 295.67 N

C)

Force, F = (42.6 x 9.8) + (8.87 x 9.8/2) = 460.94 N

D)

Force, F = 8.87 x 9.8/2 = 43.46 N

E)

m g x = M g [(L / 4) - x]

8.87 x = 42.6 (0.997/4) - x

X = 1.08 m

    Try again. Your answer is partially correct. In Figure (a), a uniform 48.5 kg beam is centered over two rollers. Vertical lines across the beam mark off equal lengths. Two of the lines are centered over the rollers; a 9.65 kg package of tamale is centered over roller B. What are the magnitudes of the forces on the beam from (a) roller A and (b) roller B? The beam is then rolled to the left until the right-hand end is...
