In some cases the odor of a successfully synthesized and isolated ester does not exactly match the odor of the fragrance it is trying to mimic found in nature. What might be a possible explanation for this? Assume the synthesized ester was made correctly without experimental error.

The odor of successfully synthesized ester does not exactly mimic the actual natural fruity smell simply because the particular fruit found in nature is actually composed of different smelling agents ( different natural esters) with maintained composition. so it is very hard to achieve this composition of variety of smell to get in a particular raw ester .
