the questions to be asked are as follows:

Is the baby having recurrent episodes of diarrhea?

does the baby has abdominal pain or fever?

What was the color of the stool?

Did you give any medicines for the baby (for flu or for other ailments)

Infants and their development

The term infant is applied to young children under the age of one.

During their first year, infants try to learn skills that they use for the rest of their lives.

The normal growth of babies can be broken divided into the following areas:

• Gross motor - controlling the head, sitting, crawling, maybe even starting to walk
• Fine motor - holding a spoon, picking up a piece of cereal between thumb and finger
• Sensory - seeing, hearing, tasting, touching and smelling
• Language - starting to make sounds, learning some words, understanding what people say
• Social - the ability to play with family members and other children

All the infants does not develop at same rate, some learn quickly, some may be slow but all this is considered as normal and part of development.

Discharge information:

advise to give oral rehydration solution every hour until the frequency of diarrhea is less.

Advise her to continue breast feeding and feed the baby frequently in small quantities.

Advise her not to give fruit juices or soda and not to use tap water ,also advise her not to give too much plain water.

Reassure her by telling that diarrhea is most common among children and it often goes in 2 or 3 days.advise her to bring the baby if the diarrhea persists.
