Answer) Five primary types of immunological abnormalities that are associated with immunodeficiency disease are-

  • Autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome (ALPS)- It is an autoimmune disorder in which the RBC counts lowers, platelets causes formation of clots and decrease in WBC’s. It causes enhanced risk of infections.
  • Congenital neutropenia syndromes- In this disorder the level of neutrophils decreases which causes increased exposure to infections.
  • Leukocyte adhesion deficiency (LAD)- This disease is hereditary immune disorder, in which the phagocytes doesn’t not function appropriately and they do not respond to the site of action.
  • Caspase eight deficiency state (CEDS)- In this disorder the lymph nodes and spleen increases in size causing repetitive infections and lower immune responses.
  • Chronic granulomatous disease (CGD)- In this disease the person becomes prone to bacterial infections as the phagocytes becomes inadequate to kill bacteria.
