We know that

  • 1 IU dietary (from food)b carotene =0.05 mcg RAE
  • 1 IU supplemental b-carotene = 0.3 mcg RAE

    Here RDA is of 700 mcg .

  • 0.05 mcg RAE is equivalent to 1 IU beta carotene

  • Hence 700 mcg rae is equivalent to( 1/0.05)×700= 14000 IU .

  • So to obtain RDA of 700 mcg 14000 iu beta carotene have to consume .
