What was one of Allen Brandt’s primary criticisms of the HEW Report on the Tuskegee Experiment?
The primary criticism of the HEW report on Tuskegee experiment was that the experiment went unethical because it focuses on study of diseases on racism rather than syphills.
In 1932 , it was a study that was conducted in the Tuskegee in Macon County, to check the effect of syphilis which is left untreated,
That study was conducted by taking 600 people , from them 400 had syphilis and rest were not affected by syphills,
That study was planned for 6 months but it continued for 40 years , those infected people were forced to believe regarding treatment that they are getting for syphilis and also they were lied about the same. They were told that they are getting treatment for syphilis but actually they were not getting any treatment for purifying their blood , even after knowing in 1940 that penicillin is the antibiotic which is good in treating syphilis they were given some ineffective medicine, ointment, along with aspirin,
without receiving proper consent from the people , they could not produce valid data in order to justify their experiment.
It was all about racism that they were lied that they are getting treatment from government , they were being promised to get meals and other monetary benefits such as, burial expanses , to make more people keep on participating in the experiment that was so unethical, and leads to death of so many people suffering from syphilis in the southern African - American community.
The Tuskegee syphilis study was one of the most non famous medical experiment held in the medical experiment history , that was directly based on racism than treatment of disease, also participants were deceived and lied about the treatment , and also the resercheres kept on continuing the study even after knowing that there is treatment available for syphilis.

Research and watch a video or read an article on the Tuskegee experiment. Most people's initial reaction to the Tuskegee experiment is to ask how it could have happened? What do you think? Given today's laws of informed consent, could it happen again? Why do you feel that way? How does the Tuskegee study differ from today's research studies for HIV and AIDS?

For an immunocytochemical experiment in which you labeled tissue with two primary antibodies (one made in rabbit, one made in mouse) you want to visualize the primary antibodies individually with secondary antibodies labeled with fluorophores. In the freezer you find aliquots of goat-anti-rabbit-CY2 and goat-anti-mouse-DL488. Is it a good idea to use these secondary antibodies or not? Provide the reason for your assessment.
